Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Uncovered

According to the formal release, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine sect.

The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's latest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
