PSG Edges Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious trophy on fourteen different times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown between the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net early on.

However, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to seize a surprise lead. Initially, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the final seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to seal a 4-1 shootout victory.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.
