Seattle staged a stunning fightback to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in extra time, clinching their place in the NFL play-offs.

Rallying from a sixteen-point hole in the final period, the Seahawks triumphed 38-37 at home, notching their fifth consecutive victory.

While the Los Angeles had become the first to earn a playoff berth earlier on game day, the Seattle team booked their return to the play-offs after a two-year hiatus.

With this outcome, the Seahawks now lead their division's standings with a twelve and three record, supplanting the Rams, who dropped to the number five playoff position with an 11-4 standing.

Quarterback Sam Darnold threw two interceptions but recovered to make two touchdown passes, including the tying TD to wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba in overtime.

The visitors held a 13-7 lead at half-time before Walker broke free for a long touchdown run for Seattle.

Rams defensive back Josh Wallace then took back Darnold's initial pick for a big return, leading to a short touchdown by Blake Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the fourth quarter, a touchdown from Stafford to Nacua extended the Rams' lead to 30-14, but Shaheed provided the comeback with a 58-yard punt return.

Darnold then connected with AJ Barner in the endzone, and a converted conversion forced the game into overtime.

Although Nacua scored for his second touchdown in OT, Smith-Njigba responded in kind to set up the decisive score.
